How To Hang Acoustic Panels

Acoustic wall panels are easy to install, with many clients choosing to go the DIY route with installation guides. They can be installed with anything from magnets to metal plates. In addition, since installation requires minimal tools, you can install acoustic wall panels with the basic tools you already have on hand.

One of the easiest ways is using Z-Clips. Panels with Z-Clips have one installed on the back while the other is installed on the wall. This is a great option if you want to hang panels with minimal damage to the wall.

First, place the panel face down on a clean surface. Then, attach the Z-Clips to the back of the panel with screws. During this step, take your time and avoid seating the screws too tightly. You’ll be able to clip your acoustic panels onto the wall and easily remove them when needed.

To install Quiet Earth moss wall panels, place them against the wall and attach them directly. Our moss panels are 1.5 lb per square foot and can be screwed directly into any drywall. Depending on your structure of the room, we recommend using ¼” to 2 ¼” screws.

Create a Personalized Design with Acoustic Moss Panels

Quiet Earth preserved moss walls are custom designed and handcrafted to your exact specifications. However, before installing acoustic moss wall panels, you might find that you need to make some adjustments for electrical outlets, light switches, or data ports. To create a personalized wall panel that fits your space, all you need is a tape measure, scissors, a metal square, and a utility knife.

To make cutouts in wall panels, measure the wall and panel to find out where your cutout needs to be, cut the acoustic material out of the back of the panel, and cut the moss on the front of the panel.

If you notice a hole or seam between two acoustic moss wall panels during installation, you can easily touch it up with bulk moss for a natural, cohesive design. We recommend wearing nitrile-coated work gloves and gluing bulk moss onto the panel with a glue gun for the best results. If you don’t have any trim for the edges, finish the hanging panels off with some moss for a light, airy look. We include extra moss with each order for touch ups.
